Shine Your Light

Thursday 25 February 2027 · Anchor Point, Birmingham
Hosted by Hannah Thomas, founder of Connection Counts

In education and care, we walk into dark places every day. Working alongside vulnerability is hard, and it can leave even the most passionate of us running on empty.

Shine Your Light is a day to fuel you back up. Hosted by Hannah Thomas, it brings together people working with children, young people and families to focus on what really makes the difference: connection. In our relationships, in every interaction, in the small moments that change everything.

It is a day to recognise your power, your worth and your influence, and to bring our light together.

Find your light. Reconnect with your passion and the difference you make every day.

Share your light. Stand alongside others who do this work and remember you are not alone.
Ignite the light in others. Leave fired up to carry that light into the spaces that need it most.

About the day:

Morning: Keynote and guest speakers to inspire, challenge and remind you why connection counts.

Throughout the day: Dedicated spaces to connect authentically with others, plus an exhibition area where organisations share what they do.

Afternoon: Interactive, creative workshops for those working with children, families and young people in education and care.

Who’s it for:
Teachers, school leaders, pastoral and inclusion staff, residential care teams, social care professionals, youth workers, and anyone whose work centres on children, young people and families.
